Tilly Sveaas founded her eponymous brand in 2016. Born in Hong Kong to British-Norwegian parents, London-based Tilly has been a jewellery designer for over 25 years, in the last decade her pieces have graced the pages of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Marie Claire, as well as Forbes, The Times and The NY Times.
Her imitable style features an eclectic mix of links, chains and pendants, which form the building blocks of every collection. By playing with scale and weight, these timeless elements are re-imagined to glorious effect, resulting in a contemporary collection with by-gone charm.
In 2016, the introduction of her signature T-Bar necklace, inspired by her Great-Great-Uncle Fred’s gold pocket watch and chain, demonstrated how much-loved classics are at the heart of the brand. This iconic piece is undoubtedly what the brand is best known for, now enjoying cult status amongst the fashion press, celebrities (Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner, Elle Macpherson and Rita Ora included) and customers alike. The T-Bar’s popularity continues to escalate, with new designs being introduced to the collection on an ongoing basis.
It has always been Tilly’s ethos that each piece meets 3 definitive criteria - quality, design purity and timelessness - these principles collectively come together to ensure the highest standards are met.
Over the years, the brand has grown its suppliers globally but only works with personally selected companies that are certified, authenticated and regularly visited.
“My jewellery is built upon honest social responsibility, since its humble beginnings in Bali back in 1997, and I still use my first ever supplier.”
Produced in the UK, Italy, Thailand and Bali, Tilly Sveaas is a licensed Fairmined brand, using Fairmined gold and silver to plate all handmade linked pieces, as well as earrings and bangles – assuring that these metals come from small-scale mining organisations that embrace responsible business, social, and environmental practices.
Furthermore, all the fine chains are made using recycled sterling silver, by an Italian company that is a certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
