The Story Behind Our Iconic T-Bar

I have always drawn from the past when creating my jewellery and my T-bar designs in particular have a very rich history – one that is extremely personal to me.

Growing up I was surrounded by antiques and heirlooms and one piece that was really special was my Great Great Uncle Fred’s gold pocket watch and chain.

Great Great Uncle Fred wearing his treasured watch and chain. CAlthough I loved this watch –  it was smooth, heavy and shiny and I thought it was beautiful – what I loved more was the connecting watch chain and as a child I spent hours playing with it, wrapping it around my wrist and neck!

My mother wears the watch chain every day and not only does it remind me of my childhood, it’s given me a deeper understanding of the sentiments attached to a family heirloom.

When I started my business 20+ years ago, it seemed natural to want to design a piece that took this sentimental item into consideration, so that I could perhaps create future heirlooms of my own.

Over the last 2 decades my fascination for T-bars has continued and there are now over 100 T-bar pieces in the current collection! But I’m not stopping there. I am currently working on a new design, one that will take our T-bar Collection to a whole new level.
